Re: Overclocking acer laptop
nope.. nothing seems to work
guess i got to scavenge the internet for another board
but i guess the TME hack worked... pinmod for 333 not so much... so if we could get any kind of support for the chip in setfsb, maybe we can overclock it. however i have checked in the m11x forum and saw that the pll seems to be missing all information regarding programming for registers 12 and 13... this could leave us with an un-overclockable board...

Re: Overclocking acer laptop
Did you use a 10K resistor?
If so, how could the board be shorted out?
Can you check your connections with a DMM?Clevo P150HM / Sager NP8150: i7-2630QM OEM (would trade for Q154

Re: Overclocking acer laptop
I got some 10k resistors and used those... honestly I am not sure what the heck happened. Checked each resistor individually and some links leading from the pll to resistors on the board. It is really weird... oh well. Still looking for a cheap replacement board. Any ideas? Looking as cheap as possible for a replacement board for the d250 - any processor. I would love a n280 processor.

Re: Overclocking acer laptop
Bodgi, I OC'd my Acer using the 387 PLL without setting all the reg's correctly and it wouldn't boot. The lights were on (power LED) but nobody home. Blank screen, no disk activity and no keyboard response (caps lock etc). Turned out the BIOS got corrupted.
Luckily the crisis recovery worked. I think that might be worth a shot trying the crisis recovery if you have the same symptoms before you go out and buy a new board.
There seem to be a few tut's for the D250 such as
Bios recovery on Aspire One D250
You could just try first to initiate the recovery by
1. Taking out the battery and AC adapter
2. While holding down the fn & esc keys insert the AC adapter.
If you get the "orange flash" then it should be very promising to be able to do a full crisis recovery. Good luck.

FAQ:-
Q: What for & how it helps me overclock my computer?
A: Check your Clock Generator on the SetFSB application or website. If it is listed, you can overclock your computer by using SetFSB.
