What Processor's Are Compatible with my Acer Aspire 4315?

Hi sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong forum but I've been looking for a week and have come up with nothing.

The specs are:

Acer Aspire 4315-2097
Intel Celeron Processor 530 (1.73 ghz, 533mhz FSB, !mb L2 cache)
2 Gb ddr2 ram
1 Gb Mobile Intel(R) 965 Express Chipset Family
80 Gb HDD
802.11 b/g WLAN

Any help would be great.

So could I use a processor with a 6mb cache or is 1mb my system's limit or just the processor's? Thanks for the help too

You can use any processor which is a Socket P C2D

Grab a cheap T5570 off of Ebay!

1mb is the cpu limit not ur computers.

click on this link, The Ultimate CPU Guide . Scroll down the page and find your processor under budget cpu's, notice how it's gotta P on the end of your cpu's specs, now you can upgrade to any of the cpu's with a P on the end of the specs all the way down to the bottom of the performance cpu's with the exception of the cpu's with a x before the # ie:x9000, if acer sells your model with the extreme chips then you most likely can use the extreme cpu's also. Now you will not be able to upgrade to the montevina cpu's further down the page.

If you do upgrade you should make sure that your bios are up to date.

yes it will work but i would try to get a t8100 or t8300. best bang for buck. anyway if you do get the model you suggested i would go for more memory. ie: 4GB ddr667(pc2 5300)
