Re: The "Undervolting" Guide
I'm the other way around, RM CLock is showing the false temp. Either that, or Coretemp is also not running right, along with HW Monitor.

Re: The "Undervolting" Guide
Speed Fan, Core Temp and RM Clock all show the same for me, So.. HW Monitor was the wrong temp. I suppose it could be different for everyone.

Re: The "Undervolting" Guide
RMClock and Hwmonitor and core temp all show similar temps, 1-3C appart max.

Re: The "Undervolting" Guide
After looking at your screen shot...
I think the problem with HW Monitor might be that mine only displays whats labeled as'' THRM'' Doesnt display the core itself, Yet the other programs display the core. Whats THRM? Why doesn't it display the core.
Just a question for future reference to if you don't mind, What is a average ''SAFE'' Temp for a core to reach?
Also, When using ORTHOS to test, There is a few test types to choose from, Which it the best to use?
Thanks, Great forum here! Sorry for so many questions.

Re: The "Undervolting" Guide
This is the ASPI(Advanced Configuration and Power Interface) temperature. I don't know why hwmonitor can't read your cpu sensor..I think the problem with HW Monitor might be that mine only displays whats labeled as'' THRM'' Doesnt display the core itself, Yet the other programs display the core. Whats THRM? Why doesn't it display the core.
70ºC even 80ºC(although someone will say this is too hot). C2D CPU, according to Intel can reach 100ºC max then will force the system to power off. What is a average ''SAFE'' Temp for a core to reach?
With the default(CPU&RAM) you're good to go.Also, When using ORTHOS to test, There is a few test types to choose from, Which it the best to use?

Re: The "Undervolting" Guide
Just got my T8300 today and it's already way better than my T5450. Default temps before AS5 were about 47C at lowest, now I'm at 42C lowest. But that'll get better once the AS5 sets in and I can undervolt. Be back later.
EDIT: need to update my sig!
EDIT2: just did a 45 min stress test, didn't even hit 66C at max voltage. Should be able to reduce my voltage down to .9500 from 1.000-1.100 for lowest multi.Last edited by notyou; 27th May 2008 at 09:56 PM.

Re: The "Undervolting" Guide
I cant wait for my XPS 1530 with the T8300 to get here..
Right now, I'm just messing around, Learning about everything with a older Compaq.. With a 1.6 GHz AMD Turion64
Seems like that AS5 works well, Is that the best out? Sure seems like everyone loves it. I know I have used some of their products before on some Pentium 4s we overclocked along time ago.
