What the heck is an Intel Pentium Duo Core T2370?
Anybody hear of the processor model T2370 before? I tried googling it but hardly anything relevant came up. I am from Asia and looking to buy an Asian only Sony Vaio model and it comes equip with this processor. It's not even core "2" duo, but just core duo. Why are they equipment new laptops with core duo anymore? But apparently, it can support 64 bit in this new processor release which is different from other core duos. Anybody got any info on this model?

Hi.
I have an coreduo T2050 in my laptop and it works great.
the equvilent core2duo to the T2370 will only be approx 10% more powerful.
I suppose it all dependson what you want.

John.

Re: What the heck is an Intel Pentium Duo Core T2370?
So there is 64bit support. But it says 1mb cache, isn't that bad? Aren't all c2d 2mb?

Hi.
some only have 1mb, example T2060 only has 1mb cache.
why do you want to buy a coreduo and not a core2duo???

Re: What the heck is an Intel Pentium Duo Core T2370?
It is listed by Intel here.
Intel keeps creating new CPU models with all the left-over chips which fail to make the grade for its original models. This makes sense for both Intel and the consumers.
In summary, it looks to be a good budget CPU with 1.73GHz clock speed but only 1MB level 2 cache. The 64-bit support indicates that it is a chopped down Core 2 CPU.

Re: What the heck is an Intel Pentium Duo Core T2370?

Because I am getting this new laptop really cheap and it comes with this. I am also wondering why it's core duo and not core 2 duo. However, this is a "new" core duo chip I think if it makes any sense. Are there any new features in this? Supposedly the Sony Vaio which comes with this can last for 4 hours + with normal usage!

Re: What the heck is an Intel Pentium Duo Core T2370?
The T2370 is a cut-down 65nm Memron Core 2 Duo, it is not an old Yonah Core Duo (like some previous Pentium Dual Core cpus).
It is lacking L2 cache of the regular C2Ds, but has 64bit support that the older Yonah units did not. No Core Duo supported 64bit operating systems.....

Re: What the heck is an Intel Pentium Duo Core T2370?
It is a dual-core pentium processor. They are common. Its like 2 Pentium 4s put together on a single die then connected through the FSU.
It depends upon the model and make of the laptop. They vary in design and are targeted at certain people. The Pentium Dual-Core will suit just about anyone just fine that is not gaming or using it for heavy tasks. Not to say that the Core Duos aren't good processors though. It just depends on what group of people it is being targeted at.
