acer aspire 5100, having problems need some advice..

I bought a acer aspire 5100, with the AMd turion 2.0 ghz, and a ati rad 1100 express, with (2g of ddr2 <--that i got my self).

Now it was always working fine at first, but now its lagging alot even when playing something like counter strike 1.6, but mainly i play world of warcraft. I was wondering if there is anything I can do about this, some people say I should just switch to Xp instead of vista, but ive been told xp is out of date and unsafe. I had 1g orginally of ddr2, which i've upped to 2g now so that wasn't the problem. Also I may have a virus but spybot, and avg arent finding them, well spybot finds me but they keep coming. n my system restore isn't working for some reason.

So ya tight on money other wise at this pointi would just trash the laptop, its been alot of research and keep ending up at --->LAG<--- ><

so if anyone could help me out, I would be very grateful to any advice at all, thank you all for your time.

if anyone can give me a solution to this that would be great , i'm also thinking about trying to switch out either the v card if possible or the cpu, if its possible. smeone said i might have a virus, but when i use spybotand avg, , the avg doens't get anything but the spybot keeps finding the same things over anyone know how to fix these things?

Have you tried a good old fashioned reformat?

Sounds like you probably have a virus or something on those lines.

didn't have disk soooo went with xp =/ now im having issues with drivers but hell its alot faster now! I made a post about needing help with the drivers still need em!
