I think you have a 965-Series chipset, in which case you won't be able to use a T9900. T9500 will be the best you can do.

According to the detailed specs it's a Mobile Intel® GM965 Express Chipset.

I prefer Win 7 over Win 8, but that is a personal preference. You are free to use whatever OS you want. If you respect my right to use 7 I will respect your right to use your OS and we will get along just fine. If you insist on trying to start an argument over my right to use 7 then we have a problem.

Hello, I guess this is the right topic for this.
I'm planning to upgrade my cpu and I could use some knowledge and guidance.
The laptop in question is Toshiba Equium A200-1V0
    Here's the specs
    Toshiba

it has T2310 cpu and the new one would T7500
    Here's the specs
    T2310
    T7500

Now the questions. T2310 runs at 533 fsb and t75 at 800,
chipset should be GM965 Express (not 100% sure)
so, does that fsb matter, the motherboard should support 800,
and as far as I know, I dont have to do anything to this?

Other thing that I worry, is the voltage.
    t2310 has 1.2125 which is higher than t75 1.075 - 1.175
Should I do something about this?

and last but not least, the bios. I'm wondering if it will work?
I know that the a200 model has been released with a c2d, but a lot lighter one, T5450 which is almost the same as t75

Please let me know everything else that I should know before I buy the cpu and put it inplace.

If you've got a 965, the T7500 shouldn't an issue. If you want to be safe, T5450 is probably a better bet, but I don't really see any reason for the T7500 not to work.

    Take a look at:
    http://www.intel.com/assets/pdf/datasheet/316273.pdf page 12

It says that Mobile 965PM should support all CPUs with 800MHz FSB [with DDR2-5300(or 667MHz) RAM]. The rest of it is up to You and Your skills with Google.com ;-)

Yeh, I agree with you, that I would be safer with the T5450, but i'm tryin to get a sweet deal for that t75.

Can you tell me anything about the volts?
    Any knowledge about that?
    Btw, really nice topic commander!

yep, I did read that aswell
hmm... do I have to change my ram from 667mhz to 800mhz?
or will it work with the new cpu just fine?

your ram is fine, in fact if you buy 800mhz ram it will run at 667mhz with this chipset.
    Clevo P150HM / Sager NP8150: i7-2630QM OEM (would trade for Q154) | 7970m | 8gb 1600mhz ram | 2x HDD
    Toshiba satellite P750 : B960 2.2Ghz |6gb 1333mhz ram | GT 540M |128gb Samsung SSD + 750gb HDD
    Alienware M17 / OCZ whitebook Arima w840di : SP9400 3.45Ghz (386Mhz FSB) | 9800m GT (dead)

Hello all, I've been reading this thread for quite sometime and decided to upgrade my Toshiba Equium A200-1V0 (T2310 1.4Ghz, 2GB DDR2 533Mhz, 120GB Toshiba HDD).. I got a replacement T7500 for quite cheap and luckily it booted I also add a 2GB module-3GB total and replace the HDD with OCZ Solid 2 60GB..the laptop just doesn't feel the same..
Thank you CommanderWolf for creating the guide-otherwise I'd still be scratching my head for a compatible CPU lol..
so Toshiba A200-1V0 bios ver. 2.5--->T7500 upgrade success

Thisideup, I think you can proceed for T7500 too as we have the same lappy.
