Re: Intel Mobile Processor Compatibility Guide
Your system will not understand the 1066MHz FSB, because the BIOS does not support them. Even if the BIOS recognized a T9800 at 2.93Ghz it would only run at 2.2Ghz because the system can only run a 800MHz FSB.
Your best bet is to upgrade to a socket P SANTA ROSA cpu like the T8300, T9300, T9500

Re: Intel Mobile Processor Compatibility Guide
like k-tron sayed on the example with the t9800, the cpu doesn´t just start with fsb800? i mean, desktop-cpu´s with fsb1066 can also run on fsb800 systems with a limited performance, reasoning on the lower fsb...

Re: Intel Mobile Processor Compatibility Guide
I have a new question... I upgrade my notebook with the system-board of a 6730s, which has gm45 chipset and can handle fsb1066... but do I need ddr2 with 1066mhz or can I still use my 800mhz modules? desktops can handle ram with a lower clock, but I don´t know how this works with laptops

Re: Intel Mobile Processor Compatibility Guide
Notebooks can also handle RAM with a lower clock.
And there are no DDR2-1066 SODIMMs available.

Thanks for the Info.
So will a T7250 (socket P) work in Socket M 945/940 chipset?? since they both used 479 socket??

Re: Intel Mobile Processor Compatibility Guide
No
Socket M processors have a different electrical pinout than socket P processors. A T7250 will not work
A T7200, T7400, and T7600 will work, but they are rather expensive processors.
