Where can one find a boxed Core 2 Duo T7800?

I'm looking to upgrade my CPU, but i don't seem to find any place where you can buy a boxed T7800....is it not available for retail, or am I not looking hard enough?

maybe because rarely anyone upgrades the cpu on notebooks. i hear it's a little difficult to do.

it takes less than 5 min to upgrade CPU in vostro 1400, but for T61, it might be another story.

Or possibly because the manufacturers offer the CPU's at a lower price than what the consumer can buy and upgrade himself.

It's actually very straightforward....

How come then it's extremely easy to find the T7700?

I assume if you take two Dell Vostro 1400's for example, one ordered with the base CPU, and the other ordered with the top CPU, the cooling system will be identical? Any other changes when you order a faster CPU?
