Exploded power supply? Must be some cheap Chinese copy - the original ones have built in protection (my laptop has built in protection on the motherboard, as well, but it works only with original HP adapters with Smart-something).
My advice: Undervolt your processor! And your graphics card, too! For me, it meant the difference between throttling to ~70% at stock on a 130W power supply and being able to run both overclocked (with lower temps, as well)!

You should get one that provides 150w as nominal not max. Even a 90w will provide 120w max short term. This is probably why it went south............ Originally Posted by k999945

everything is undervolted its just my original power supply got scary hot so I am getting a upgrade. Also yes it exploded there is a rectangular burn mark in my desk from where it exploded.
