Default Windows 7 on LT3103u netbook - the verdict so far?

You guys who have installed Windows 7 on this netbook: how does performance compare to VISTA including battery life - better or worse - and how hard was installation? Bottom line, is it worth the $120 upgrade? many thanks to all

As to the win7 upgrade. You will notice improvements with just about all levels of opperation over vista (better resource management, better power plans, small hardware foot print, etc)

Is it worth 120 dollars to you though, that i cant answer. I enjoy Win7 and highly recommend it. But unfortunatly i couldnt give you a precentage of improvement it will give you for your machine (though maybe one of the other owners will have some numbers for you)

I can't give you numbers either, I can tell you it is a vast improvement even with Aero enabled. It actually makes the desktop experience much better frees up some hard drive and other system resources as well. It won't transform the system into a screamer but for casual use other than HD flash it makes the system quite usable especially with multiple tabs open and the like.

I preordered 2 copies Win7 at the 50.00 mark when it was available. One is for The LT-3103u, now my daughters machine. I never had Vista on long enough to say if it hurts battery, I can tell you it gets about 4.5 to 5 hours with the screen full blast and wireless etc. For myself I want the Acer 1820t tablet, su7300 version or gateways incarnation.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll probably spring for Windows 7 based on the performance improvements and features.
