No, your tube is not messed up. Grams are a measure of weight, while mL is a measure of volume. If you weigh the tube full of IC24 before you use any, then weigh the syringe when it is enpty, subtract the syringe weight from the original weight, you will find the difference to be about (depending on the accuracy of your instruments/technique) 4.8 grams.
If the syringe was full, it would probably weigh around 120-130 grams.
The bubble is only a concern if you are planning on mainlining the IC24.
No worries. Hope this helped.

You must be one cold-hearted guy. Most I can do in one crank is about 1/2 mL.

thanks for the quick reply. So do you think that 1.8 ml is enough for cpu, northbridge, gpu, and 4 little gpu memory boxes?

You bet. If it does not cover all the chips you listed, you over-applied on the first ones. You will have plenty to do your laptop. Remember that this stuff is non-conductive and non-corrosive, so a little more is better than a little less.

a week later

seems like my gpu temp on load has gone back up from 68C to 74C. Is that normal? Did a piece of my icd break? or did the material deteriorate....the weather these few days did get hotter, but I doubt it would make a 5 degrees difference inside the comp..

im in San Francisco btw

I doubt its the thermal compound. Have you changed drivers, overclocked, etc? Maybe there is some dust or something blocking the vent.

Just upgraded my thermal compound on my X9100 to ICD7. My temps are now 32C at idle and 55C at full load. Of course I am undervolting at 1.05v through RMClock. I did notice that when I took the heatsink assembly off the CPU the old thermal compound had bubbled and dried out. Guess that explains why I was getting almost 90C at stock voltage under full load.
