Official War Rock thread
Wondering how many of us play War Rock and what are your views?
I think it's ace, not only will my laptop run it pretty well but it's not too difficult or technical, the graphics and interface are really useable and intuitive, good maps. My only concern is that it can lag a bit... but newbies can still do ok, like me. 61% towards level 2!
Does new levels mean new weapons?

Re: Official War Rock thread
No, new lvls don't mean anything other than ranking. Even so, all rankings will be swiped once the final version is released in February (I hear it has been further delayed); so don't go full out on leveling up.
I already posted two rather lenghty threads on my opinions of War Rock so I won't go into any more detail. They inlcude various screenshots at different settings. You can view them here:
Finally, a game playable at high settings
War Rock: a free battlefield experience
Here's one thread started by Havok (who will no doubt reply to this topic):
War Rock open beta
Anyway, War Rock is a great free game IMO. It runs on integrated cards (I have an ATI X1100 128MB) well even at high settings. Let's just say that it's the only game I can run smoothly at high settings with dynamic lighting enabled.
I am currently part of the BFC (Bio Freaks) clan now - check out my custom clan avatar. Just yesterday I was promoted as the clan's training officer (in charge of practices etc.) and forum moderator. I am a level 8 Sergeant (working towards level 9) and usually play on the US West server.
Just wondering, where'd you find a Toshiba with a 256MB ATI X200M?

Re: Official War Rock thread
G36C and MP5K make a good combo, the K is a great little wepaon, tops to switch to when your mag is empty and more flexible in close quarters.
Just got me first promo to PFC

Re: Official War Rock thread
Yes, those two weapons work well together. Myself, I prefer the AK-47 and the Desert Eagle combination. I just like the sound the AK makes as well as its high dammage; the D'eagle is just for close up combat. I only use it when out of primary weapon ammo, or when sneaking up on a scout for a headshot. It only packs 7 rounds so I use it sparingly.
Lol, my favourite weapon's got to be the fist (until the combat knife is released. I don't know how many scouts I've humiliated by just punching them to death
By the way, Beta 5 is soon to be released because of the slight delay of the commercial version. I look forward to playing that version, and hopefully its has addressed many of Beta 4's bugs. Hope they don't swipe ranks again although they probably will.*completely hopeless and in need of wireless network expertise*
