Thanks man, how do I save different profiles and settings though? You're a pro at this (should get paid by NBR >.>) and MSIA seems to have a mind of its own when it comes to saving the profiles.

    LOL...thanks for nice comments

MSI Afterburner is acting up cause the 7970m isn't officially supported yet. So we hack it via the registry to enable overclocking for the 7970m

To save a profile, first reset to default, make sure it reads 850/1200. I've found that rebooting here is a good idea.

Then come back in after and to set profile, set your new overclock, click on a profile number, then hit save. You can set the app to start with windows so it is a permanent change

Not a problem man, just forwarding the truth.
Do you suffer from MSIA suffering from shortening your sliders, as well? Meakers' solution helped earlier: set overclock, apply, close. Rinse and repeat. But now my slider clocks are limited/constricted again.

The afterburner sliders can act weird at times. What i have seen is that say i overclock the card to 950/1450. If i close and open, i have the room on my sliders again but the clocks start at 950/1450

I've never had the opposite where i have no room on the sliders, usually with me, it's too much room

But for me its currently irrelevant anyways, I'm playing Diablo3 right now and i'm running stock clocks. No point overclocking when I'm already getting 100+fps with the game maxxed @ 1080p

Okay, fair enough. Ever had it when your 3DMark11 test consistently fails at clocks that you've previously bested on? The Clocks I posted above are now causing crashes... :/

that's normal with overclocking. If you want 1ghz core stable, you are going to have to install the 1.075v vbios. at 990mhz, the card may be tempermental with power. I'm lucky because my card can run 990mhz core all day long on the stock voltage, but cards vary with overclocking

There may also be a background process in windows that is causing your crash. If 3dmark doesn't have exclusive rights to your system, it will stop the test and tell you either the video card driver stopped responding or it lost exclusive rights

Yeah, the AMD driver stops responding and is 'recovered'. Also get a message, now I'm paraphrasing, but something about "losing access to keyboard"...

^ so it sounds like there is something else going on like interference from a virus scanner or sometimes, if you have an app open that is getting updates like with email clients, it can cause a crash. You are learning about overclocking now lol
