Default Interest in classic FF-style battle system games?

How many people here would play a game like this if it's built solid?

Would anyone not play it, regardless of quality, just due to not liking that style of game?

Any feedback would really help me out.

I would play it, I played some old save that I had from FF8 not so long ago, I think 2 months ago.

Added some higher texture mods and other graphics and better audio quality as well.

I lost most of my interest in that stuff a few years ago, but if it were a faithful throwback to the SNES era of jRPGs I'd consider it. Most NES era jRPGs were just too dated by the time I tried them out, though.

Keep in mind that there are a lot of factors that went/go into making the best jRPGs, it's not just a matter of saying you want to make one, which I assume is your reason for asking.

You should try Silver, is available in GoG.
Basically back in time the critic acclaimed it as a FF7 clone.
Also The Last Remnant is the best thing near modern final fantasy games and I highly advice it.
Plus well since pc can emulate pretty much everything you can get a decent psx/ps2 emu and going crazy with the genre.

For JRPGs I actually prefer turn based combat.

Look on tablets and smartphones. There are a ton of Japanese-style RPGs of this format for your phone or tablet since they're easy to develop and work well with just a touchscreen interface. Some are quite good (some not) and most are under $5.

I would love to get the old Final fantasy battles back again which was turn based. Now its all real time battles with spamming the same button again without any need for strategy.

Screw you Enix. Hope you rot in hell for ruining final fantasy

Alright, thanks guys. I was starting to second guess a few design choices. The feedback was helpful.

I am actually dying to play a PC game that is exactly like or very similar to final fantasy 10, with better/similar graphics.
