7970m...how high can it overclock?

my max overclock is 1020/1650 stable in 3dmark11 and bf3. Adding voltage just causes screen flicker. 1075v is my sweet spot, check my sig for scores

yea see this a huge difference in what you said for clocks and what your test show.. show me a stable 1020/1650 bench of any kind and ill be a believer..

but right now your core is at 860 and memory is 1650.. not the 1020 you said..

....slickdude gets 1000 in some stuff otherwise runs at 995 and i think he said thats stock voltage.....1020 is not hard to believe with overvoltage

it always shows 860 in the benchmark cause it wont kick my clocks in till it starts. Many 7970m have this in the benchmarks, look at other 7970m 3dmark links ....(dot dot dot

Is it really necessary to overclock the 7970m? Isn't it more than sufficient for any game out there at 1080p?

every 7970m OC 3dmark shows the core clock as lower cause for some reason it wont kick in till the program starts and 3dmark doesnt scan your system clocks during benchmarking, im using afterburner. It shows my clocks always at 860 and the vram at max, as soon as i stress, boom 1020. Do you really think i could hit those high scores with the core at 860? seriously?

EXAMPLE: http://3dmark.com/3dm11/3489699 this person ran at stock clocks, but notice the core clocks are at only 300

Generic VGA video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-2960XM Processor,Alienware M18xR1 score: P11590 3DMarks thats mine and thats at 1ghrz and 1400 memory cf... what over volt are you using exactly.. because i can tell you one 1 or 2 cards your settings do not work with 1ghrz/1650 memory at all.. as soon as i load the test it crashes...
Im going to attempt to get you scrore on a single card just to see how it was done..
