    Yeah you could be right though, 670 may be competing against 7950 maybe? If so, then by all freakin means, make a 680M out of this Nvidia. Maybe make whatever is replacing the 570M out of the 660 Ti. Man that would have been awesome.
    Yeah, I mean look at availale products. GTX680 being highest end single GPU solution and the competitor is the HD7970.

    HD7950/HD7870/HD7850 are unconstested

    GTX670 could totally "fight" and shame the HD7870, but it would need to be in similar price, which is a huge delta from the 500dlrs of the GX680, thus GTX670 would be the card to get, and GTX680 would be DOA.

    I say the GTX670 is going to be above HD7950 but below HD7970, and the GTX660 will be between HD7870 and HD7950.

    The GTX660 will still be very powerful. It could be far more balanced, similar to HD7870 which is a superbly balanced GPU. I'm not sure what would they need to cut down in the GTX670 to keep the TDP in 100w. the HD7870 got a downclock and downvoltage but it was already at 140w to begin with, we don't know how the Cuda cores scale in that sense. 384 cores at 830 clocks are already 45w or so, triple the cuda cores, twice or so ROPs, texture units etc more etc... you can imagine reaching 100w TDP at high clockspeed.

    Maybe a high clock GTX660 would beat down or match a GTX670 cut down, lets see which one gets to be on the 680m! Rest assured, they will vote for the one that beats AMD hahaha

    670 = a cut down/defective GK104, not a new core.
    This is analogous to a 7950, not a Pitcairn core.

    All that matters is what Nvidia can make work within power and heat requirements for a laptop. Kepler is significantly better at potency/power than previous generations of Nvidia GPUs.

    It may be feasible to snip down a desktop 670, but everyone's guess is the fabled 660Ti will be the 680m eventually. Still the desktop 670 in a laptop would be amazing.

    Either way, the 7970m will still be an amazing price/performance choice as Nvidia will most likely charge blood for their 680m.

    And now they have tested the GTX 670 with 3DMark11. 11% better score in "Performance" preset and 33% better score in "Extreme" preset. Average performance over the 7870 is 22%. It increase the lead in 1080p with settings cramped up, just like it did in Vantage.

    Everything combined the 670 is 20% better than 7870 while sharing the same TDP. Compared to 7950, the 670 is 12.5% better while having 50W less TDP. 7950 is 200W while 670 is 150W.

    Looks to me as if the GTX 660 Ti won`t be far away from 7950, which means that our 680M could perhaps in worse case scenario be a downclocked 7950 if 660Ti is 12.5% slower than 670 lol

    Yeah lol, so small. I see a lot of people complaining about the size. Wonder if Nvidia did this to save cost to compete against AMD?

    Why would anyone complain about the size?

    yeah its crazy,the 670s fan is completely off the pcb ^^ looks like nvidia is being extremely creative this year@kepler, turbo boost, energy consumption, reduced microlags(multi-gpu), automatic online game spec selection and now extremely shortened pcbs^^

    Don`t ask me, I have no idea. Perhaps they want a behemoth of a card to reflect performance? idk
