AMD 7970m vs GTX 680m

If AMD does hit the nail correctly smashing it into place with 1 hit, a real working driver could be magic. I remember back the 6970 had a better FPS in multiple games thanks to the drivers, it was back when the 6990 just got released, on paper (sure looks stronger) but what makes the difference is the whole damn driver setup! make it happen AMD, been a nVIDIA fanboy, so prove me wrong

Both cards are 100w so no difference. However, 675m has optimus which will extend your battery

The 7970 has something similar. I can't tell you much about it right now because i had to disable the iGPU ... i don't have working drivers that support that. The 6990m had manual GPU switching so you could go to integrated or discrete.

When i saw my Unigine score, i almost fell off my chair. With ZERO driver support the 7970m is rendering DX11 at 60 fps @ 1080p. Tesselation was a soft spot for the 6900m's, but not with the 7970m's. Expect this number to rise with driver support.

Once i get some overclocking support, i fully expect desktop GTX 580 performance out of my laptop (WOW...this thought is sending chills through the geek side of me lol)

The conclusion...the 7970m is a MONSTER

nope...in fact, the 7990 doesn't make sense.

The 7970m is already 100w and already has the full 1280 spu's. This gen is based on the desktop 7870 which has 1280 spu's.

So what are they going to do with the 7990? Increase the clocks?

MAYBE, the 7990 is a completely new design...but i haven't heard anything in the pipeline

What 3D notebooks will carry the AMD 7970m? Originally I was going to buy a Asus g75 3D, but their graphics card, the 670M sucks. So I was wondering if anyone knows of a notebook with 3D screen, and this card.
