7970m from a 6990m do you guys think its worth the upgrade? like i score 3500 and the 7970m scores 6000 its nearly double the performance

I bought the 6990m hoping it would last 4 years do you think i should wait a couple years or wait till the 8970m or 9 series comes out?
    Isn't there going to be a 7990m?

Does 4xAA look better than 0xAA with FXAA enabled?

A 7990 is debatable because the 7970m is already at 100w...so i'm thinking, if they release a 7990, it will be a 7970 slightly overclocked. They can't increase the number of spu's. The 7970m already has the full 1280 spu's.

This card is based on the desktop 7870 which has 1280 spu's.

Which means...the 7990 is either a slightly overclocked 7970 OR a completely new architecture. So it might not happen

I don't like FXAA on skyrim...seems blurry to me. 4xaa looks crisper to me

Will the 7970m be compatible with the MSI 1761 (GT783DX)?

That card is a beast! Those who are planning to build a build a desktop now should really really think twice. And i just bought a 580m. Oh well..

Not sure, but MSI machines have shown good compatibility with newer cards (for instance, I've seen some GT660 owners upgrade to the 6970M and 6990M). Would love to see a 7970M in one of the newer MSi systems...

Yeah I want to know about compatibility but since most GPUs have worked on MSI barebones etc.

Where did you buy this monster card? I'm glad to see my initial score estimates near 6k were correct omg.

I NEED to buy this RIGHT NOW and install it on my machine. Damm. Please let me know where!

hmm very interesting! I thought the 6990m was an enormous jump from the 5870 and was thinking at the time 5870 sli power in a 15in im sold. so i bought a sager np8150 with a 6990m in december and max every game except metro 2033. now I see the 7970m getting 6990m sli performance and im thinking this is crazy its like laptops are obsolete every 6 months.

I have a np8150 stock with 6990m would it be wiser to sell my laptop or upgrade my gpu? like how much money could i sell my 8150 for with 6months left on the warrenty? and how much will a sager np8150em cost with a 7970m ...like if i can sell my laptop for 1000 and get a new laptop for 1700 the cost is 700, but if i keep my laptop and upgrade the cost is only 500? but i lose out on the backlit keyboard!

should I sell my laptop now or upgrade what should I do?
