VR-Zone recently had news that Nvidia is ready with GTX 670 and GTX 660 Ti since the GK104 yields are now going great.
GTX 670 is already in stores right now around the world. Down below is one from a retail shop in China. BTW, this could be our GTX 680M

And here is the article from VR-Zone saying GTX 660 Ti and 670 is pretty near

BTW, May the 15th is looking promising. Any hope they will announce the GTX 680M along with the GTX 670/660Ti? Pretty please?!

This year NVIDIA’s CEO, Jen-Hsun Huang, and many other important people will give keynotes and presentations at this event. NVIDIA’s Google Page Ranking Manager for 3D Vision, George Mellington, posted on the official NVIDIA blog that the CEO will give the opening keynote at the event on May 15 10:30am PT and along with other things he’ll also “announce some big GPU news that you’ll not want to miss”.

:O whoopeeee! Perhaps we'll see how well the GTX 680M is going fare vs the 7970M, and some confirmed specs and benches.

Actually, I'm hoping too much, they'll probably just say "oh the GTX 680M? yea yea its coming just wait for another 56 months and itll be there"

Man it sure is great to do research before buying a laptop =) Im about to get the P170HM from my retailer, but it has "only" the Nvidia GTX 675M 2 GB GDDR5. Now im not much of a gamer, but if the Kepler gpu will be out this month, i might have to hold of my purchase.

Looking forward to see whats announced tomorrow. Hopefully that the keplers will be out, then i'll wait for those to get retailed here in europe.

We ditched this thread after a while and discussed the 680M in this thread:
    AMD 7970m vs GTX 680m

Only 116 pages more to read
No seriously, what we found out, or the proper word is "think" since its all speculation about the 680M, is that it won`t atleast be out until early July. 680M should be announced at Computex June 5 -9th. So if you want the 680M you will have to wait a little longer I`m afraid

Woha! Well now that definitely changes the game for me. Thanks for saving me 116 pages to read about this =) I'll just go ahead and order the laptop with the current gpu then. Im sure it will be nice and frankly i've been waiting for a clevo since the announce of P270WM aka january. So now its time to get the laptop

Cheers and +++ rep for the info! Sorry if i bumped a old topic, but i used the search function =)

Considering fermi is stronger for CAD than the keplers we have at the moment (which have FP64 performance at 1/24th of FP32 performance), waiting for the 680M seems a little silly.

Also I would look at the Quadro series for professional drivers.

Well its not 3d work but compositing the 3d renders. Our application Nuke from The Foundry is not gpu based, at least not that much that it would make any significant difference to use the quadro for that work. We operate on cpu and memory + ssd. But yeah for cad and 3d work i would do the quadro =)

ok m8 i would buy a bairbone just add cpu and buy maybe two (if you are going sli) 580m's from a retailer with heatzink i think you would save some money there m8 since the 675m is the same gpu and you can always jump over to MVKtech and get the vbios altered so it excactly the same as a 675m
