The 670m already has higher stock scores than overclocked 660m.

I was hoping a bit more performance. My HD5870m is still too near those scores. I think the HD7870m with it's rumored scores etc will give the GTX660m a run for it's money, considering on stock its already near 3k in 3dmark11 gpu score.

Overclocked 570m/670m score much higher though.

Yeah the 570/670M can clock 40% or more so its not going to win that fight.

Since Nvidia's going to be really late to the party, I'll probably buy a 7970M laptop pretty soon. Would have liked a 120hz screen, but I can live without it. Still waiting on a quote for an M17x.

Looks to me that AMD will be winner on that race this time around. HD77 and HD78 series look to have better perf/w ratio and better perfomance overall.
Need to see more "leaks", but thats what it seems so far.
Pitcairn is incredibly efficent and AMD is making full use of GCN on mobile PC markets as well.
Im not saying that GTX680 cant beat HD7970. It may, but seems unlikely.
I am pretty sure that HD7850M and 7870M will beat Kepler counterparts tho. 660M looks rather weak.

    660M at 75W is a joke.

I really dont get it, shouldn't games be less demanding? Instead of graphics cards getting beefier?

680m vs 7970m - guys its only 2 choices, if u have money go for the first one, if u like a better price/performance go for the second one. Its not that hard.

Benchmarks are overrated, at least for me, its only marketing ppl.

Can u really tell the diference between a game that is running at 55 fps another one at 49 fps?

SemRumo, from early benchmarks the 7970m beats the 680m by a lot so much so nvidia had to delay the 680m. Maybe they are ramping up the clocks as the 7970m was more powerful then they expected.

Anyway someone with an OC 6990m saying can you tell the difference between 55fps and 49fps is strange. Games are becoming more demanding due to being able to show more life like graphics as the graphics cards get more powerful, game makers make more improvements generally however there a lot of games that mid range cards played at 60fps at 720p.

Benchmarks are not overated as they generally tell you how you're card will perform even on 3dmark as they use fps scores to find out the actual score overall.

Game benchmarks are the main thing for people who game though.

I read on the Anandtech forums that the GTX660 (the card the 680M is going to be based on) isn't going to be out until 6 months from now. : /

I had heard rumors down the pipeline that the 660's were delayed for a long time. This kinda sucks
