    Default Guild Wars 2

I notice that no one has made a thread on this particular game which in my opinion is clearly the best game of the year. Both Skyrim and Battlefield 3 will be great game in their own right but Guild Wars 2 will change the way we play mmorpg so in that way it will be one of those few games that can be call a "revolution" instead of just simply an evolution.

If there is one game to get, whether you like rpg or not, it this game. I'm going to go as far as to say this is going to be the game of the decade. I don't see any game for PC only on the horizon that can top it unless maybe World of Warcraft II.

What makes this game so unique is it deep story and rich and immersive world. I remember being so excited just by reading the lore of Guild Wars in the manual and all the place that you would imagine a fantasy setting to look like. Yes it missing mounts and some other stuff, but if your looking for great gameplay and drop dead graphics, look no place else.

Did I mention there is underwater combat as well? I feel like a lot of people will hop up on the PVP world vs world combat before even bothering with the PVE which I don't really understand why but it speak volume at how amazing Arena Net has perfected both type of landscape. If you ever play League of Legend, you would know how addicting that game is, but it still nothing compare to how fun Guild Wars 2 PVP will be.

Of course there is no beta, demo, or any sort of gameplay so this is all speculation, but knowing that this is the biggest Arena Net project to date and how big of an expectation it is, there is very few reasons to fear that something will go wrong. This is no WOW clone like Warhammer, LOTR, Age of Conan, Aion, Rift, etc... This game is a real IP that can go head to head with WoW because it has an original story and setting, and really suck you in until the very end.

I can't wait for this game, and I would like to let more people know about it in case you haven't heard about it. This game alone make a laptop purchase worth while cause you don't want to go long without playing it!

I already pre-ordered and anxiously waiting for a sign of a beta. It is mostly likely going to be a 2012 release in order to stay competitive with The Old Republic as BioWare announced TOR is going to be a 2012 release.

I played the hell out of GW, but I don't think I'll be playing the second one if it's anything like the first.

Everything I liked about GW was in turn a reason why i eventually stopped playing it. I liked how the pvp was completely balanced and everyone had the same gear and skills to choose from, but I eventually craved reward for all my hard work and wanted uber gear to slaughter other people with.

Initially I also liked how all the zones were instanced and I could use heroes and henchmen if there weren't players around. This however, meant there was no world pvp, which is a big no-no in my book. Also, it seemed like whenever I did group with someone they either had no idea to play with another person or were completely incompetent.

Lol. I actually ordered a new laptop with anticipation of the game and I wanted to make sure I would be able to play it. I'm not sure if it's going to be a game to reign over a decade, but I'm sure it'll be close. If anything I'm still impressed that people are still playing the first one and that there's even a live team still around. The amount of the content in GW1 is overwhelming, or at least for a F2P game, and the play system in completely unique to anything I have played to date. Though, from trailers and game-play videos I'm sure the sequel won't lack any new content and fans will have their anticipation met with equal mind-blowing systematic. For the amount of time this game has been being developed and the basis of the first one, I'll safely assume that this isn't being anything short of unique and spectacular.

Lighten me up pls, this is similar to dota but you control your character like in WoW? There is only pvp? Cause it sounds pretty cool. I am playing dota on TFT since 3 years and I'm pretty good it, would like to try this out. I never even played GW1.

No, it's nothing like dota. It's more like WoW arena combat. There is pve though, but not as many people play the pve as pvp.

    ‪Guild Wars 2 Manifesto Trailer [HD]‬‏ - YouTube

How could you make a Guild Wars 2 post and not link the Manifesto video?

I wish I could share your confidence, but I've been burnt by MMOs in the past, looking at you Aion... I still can't wait for it, I don't think any game comes close to how much time I put inton the original Guild Wars, I still play it every now and then after 4 years, trying to get my 50 reward points.

It's funny you talk almost exclusively of pvp when its been the thing they've said least about, and skip over the personal storyline and dynamic event system, the two things I'm looking forward to the most. I was never a big pvp guy in Guild Wars, only a little Jade Quarry or Alliance Battles every now and then.

Anyone interested should really check out their website, they've got a lot of information posted on it.

If this game turns out as good as I hope/expect it's going to be, It's definitely going to be a game changer.

The first GW was my first "real game". It got me into playing games on the PC, on the internet, and waiting for more. I played so much of it for a year (around 2006) before leaving it in the dust exploring new games. Now that there is a new "version" of it that expands the MMO genre and brings something new to the table, while looking fantastic, i'm definitely hopping on the GW2 hypetrain!

I've always played MMOs but never really stuck because they all had the same mechanics and it felt like I was just playing the same game with a different look. It SEEMS like it is not the case for GW2. I will buy this game and review it. Hopefully, I will enjoy it and so will my friends, if not I'm sure I will find people online to play with, and pursue the world as a team. Maybe I could team up with some NBR people? Who knows!

Now it's time to share a video that got me excited for the release, and a channel to subscribe to for news/gameplay videos.
