I agree that a GDDR5 6670M will never materialize. Apart from the memory tech this chip should be a little demon.
I don't know. HP is going to have a GDDR5 Radeon in their new Pavilions, and that seems like a prime candidate.

looks like I was right in having some faith. The 6750 is even better than I thought.

Looks like I was probably right as well. Leaked drivers indicate that the new HP dv6 and dv7 will have the 6770M.

My notebook has the HD 6650M and I'm looking to overclock it..

The max. temp while gaming is around 66°c so i think i got plenty of headroom when it comes to temperature...

now what about volt-mods/clock ranges... etc

I don't see how an AMD processor could possibly bottleneck the GPU since the vast majority of work is being done by the GPU.

EDIT: I just did some research. The Intel i5-450m Processor scores 2769 on 3DMark06, and the Phenom II X4 920 BE scored: 3141. The AMD processor actually scored better than the Intel, at least at the gaming benchmarks. They traded off in other other categories with AMD winning some and Intel winning some.
Oh ho ho you'll know what I mean if you have a laptop with a CPU like that. They score high in benchmarks but perform like c**p in games. The previous laptop I had (Acer AS5553G) with exact same specs except more RAM, and N930 instead of i5 460M, scored high in WEI for CPU than my current i5 processor, had the same ATI driver version, yet it ran EVERY GAME I tried disappointingly.

It's impossible to convince any of you unless you have two of these laptops side by side, fire up FRAPS, fire up some games, and see for yourself.

edit: think of it this way: most games run 90% of load on 2 cores. AMD CPU clock is maybe oh 3/4 speed of Intel CPU clock, clock-by-clock in raw performance. N930 = 2.0 GHz x 4, which in most games is effectively 2.0 x 2, which is (in Intel clock equivalent) 1.5 x 2. Also it doesn't have L3 cache at all.
Intel i5 460M will turbo, and go up to 2.8 GHz x 2, WITH L3 cache.

The difference causes the first case to bottleneck like hell, and second case to put bottleneck on GPU instead.

You could always swap in a N620 2.8ghz dual core. If your system has the cooling to handle a quad it should do nicely.

Wait till next driver release, i dont think the current drivers support the 66xx series yet.

Yeah I remember you told me about that a few months ago, it felt like too much of a hassle and I returned the laptop, got a new (sig) laptop at the same price and did not look back. It costed less than the original laptop + one of those AMD CPUs and saved me plenty of headache with 1) installation, 2) possibility of failure, and 3) warranty void.
