Are you serious that Sony doesn't update drivers that often for any computers? Since it seems like for other notebook too the drivers are old since you said the latest version for the nVidia is 188.67.

Default "Version of your graphics adaptor is not supporeted" When trying to install new drivers.

So it turns out ive been downloading the new CCC this whole time and not the actual drivers themselves, since they are still dated from Sept. 2010. But when i try to download the drivers for the graphics card i have (HD 5650) it gives me a message of "incompatible hardware/software. Version of your graphics adapter is not supported" do i do? ugh...

What model notebook do you have? Some manufacturers have opted out of allowing ATI to update the drivers, notably Sony and Toshiba.

    HP Envy 14
It has switchable graphics, but i read that you just have to install new drives over each other, and not uninstall the default drivers, since those are the ones that give switchability.

you have to get the drivers directly (you can't download them from ati's website).

instead you have to use the direct link that's usually posted on this website somewhere (the post talking about the drivers usually).

I just installed 11.1 with no issue on my envy 14 (installed them over HP 10.6 ...which is just the drivers that came after the stock ones on my envy 14...they're basically modified ATI 10.6 drivers).

Make sure the driver that you downloaded is the mobility one not the desktop one. That might be why it said your card is not supported.

See if your card's device id is in the inf of the driver you're trying to install.

Default Installing NON-Manufacturer ATI drivers - Official Drivers

    Hello

When i download the drivers for my 5650 from ati website, i try to install and it tells me i have no compatible hardware found, try your Manufacturer website.

I can only install Toshiba drivers, which is a shame because the drivers are dated march 2010, any ideas how to install the official ones from the ATI website?

    Thanks.

Download them from Guru3D site (make sure its the MOBILITY driver not the desktop ones without 'mobility' in file name). That's what I did for my Acer, the ATI site one didn't work either.

Thanks for the reply, can you point to which ones you are using?
