Re: Getting new notebook tonight, what are some new games suggestions for my new baby?
Basically, the biggest digital distribution platform for PC gaming.
Welcome to Steam
You create an account and download the Steam client, and purchase your games through that account. Those games are permanently tied to your account. When you buy a game via Steam, you can instantly download it to your computer, and for the vast majority of games, you can do this as many times on as many computers as you like.
Steam also has a community system, so you can add other users as friends, and chat or join each other's games.Machine:

Steam
Basically a service where you can buy and download the games and play them without worry of discs. There's offline mode if you don't have constant internet connection and they have neat sales and game packages too
Edit: Breadcrab beat me to it >:0._.

Don't forget that if you also own a Mac, there are games on Steam that are cross platform compatible. And in most cases (as far as I know) if you buy it on one platform, you can use both platform versions as you please. No need to re-buy that game.

Oh and let's not forget the bloody amazing Steam sales! O.OSay NO To 16:9 Screens!!!

I say get Team Fortress 2. It's highly addicting plus it features community content.

Re: **Recommend Me a Game** Ask About Game Recommendations Here
Is there a game that allows you to build an empire, a city or a nation from the ground up? I would like to be able to start from the prehistoric age and then progress to the future age. Along the way, I would like to manage the economy, military, diplomacy, etc... I'm okay with any genre, RTS/City Building/Sim/Turn based.
Games I've already played:
Age of Empires series
Empire Earth series
Sim City series
Anno 1404
Civ 4 (can't get into this game)
EDIT:
Also, Rise of Nations, Total War series (can't get into the series either). Thanks!

Re: **Recommend Me a Game** Ask About Game Recommendations Here
Hey all, Im looking for a game that will keep me busy over the summer. I'm downloading Allods Online right now. I've had an MMORPG itch for a while, and while i was a big fan of WAR when I played, I can't afford a subscription plan. It doesn't have to be an MMORPG though, in fact, the more you can recommend me the better. Just please consider the following critera:
1) The cheaper the better, I really don't want to spend more than $20, as I just bought the first parts for a desktop, and most if not all of my funds will go towards that.
2) Low system requirements would be cool. Games like LoL that run well and look awesome are appreciated.
3)Games that are gentle in impact on the battery life would be rad. It'd be cool if I could play them while being liberated from the wall.
System Specs if they'll help: Dell Latitude E6500 Core 2 P8400 @ 2.26 GHz, 2 gigs of ram, and an Nvidia Quadro NVS 160M.
Thanks everyone!!!

Re: **Recommend Me a Game** Ask About Game Recommendations Here
I have an E6400. I can recommend:
Alliance of Valliant Arms, a free MMOFPS. If you want to play in the ladder, clan matches, etc, you will be underpowered unless you buy gear with real money, but for leisurely play the in-game money is enough.
Diablo 2, which doesn't need introduction. Recently a new patch came out (10 years after the game was launched!) and lots of players came back to the servers.Dell Latitude E6400 | P8600 2.40 GHz | Nvidia Quadro NVS 160M | 4GB RAM | 250 GB 7200 rpm | 1440x900 LED | Intel 5300 | Win 7 Pro 64 Bit
Custom Desktop | i5 750 2.66 GHz | ATI HD5770 | 4 GB RAM | 1 TB 7200 rpm | Win 7 Pro 64 Bit | 1920x1080 22'' + 1680x1050 22''
