Re: **Recommend Me a Game** Ask About Game Recommendations Here
I just want to recommend a unique RPG/FPS mix game from back in the day: Magic Carpet, and its sequel Magic Carpet 2. Made by (who else) Bullfrog.
See the videos for yourselves, and remember that these games were launched in 1994 and 1995 (when recently-launched games included Warcraft 1, Earthworm Jim, TIE Fighter, Doom 2, Mortal Kombat 2, etc). They were complete breakthroughs in gaming. Some of their features (like terrain deformation) are still advertised as cutting-edge features nowadays!

Good story + "fantasy-like" graphics
Hi. Can anyone recommend a game (action/adventure, RPG, jRPG, anything. doesn't matter really) that has a good story and good "fantasy-like"/colourful graphics? Final Fantasy 7 would be a good example, albeit an old one. It is my favourite game ever, btw.
To clarify what type of graphics I'm talking about (since everything is technically colourful):

as opposed to

Fallout 3 was just too gloomy most of the time. FF13 has some even better scenes, but I thought I'd keep a fair comparison. You can still see the difference though. FF13's on my "to get" list, but I'm not that excited about it after the reviews and I want to get something else before that.
Any recommendation? I haven't played most recent games btw, so don't hold back, even if it's a very popular suggestion
Thanks!

Re: **Recommend Me a Game** Ask About Game Recommendations Here
Hmm so Diablo 3 or Guild Wars 2... Both are going to be playable alone I believe, so that shouldn't be a factor.
But does anyone know if GW2 will come to Steam? I know Diablo 3 is on battle.net and probably not coming to Steam any time soon (or ever). But that's not a huge issue, I would just use a game's Steam-availability as a tie breaker if it came down to it.
I really want to know what the core differences are going to be like. It seems that GW2 will be more action oriented as far as combat goes, with a bigger focus on combat while Diablo 3 will be more of a dungeon crawler? Can anyone correct or comment on that, and offer some opinions as to which they think will be better?

You can try
- Divinity 2 - Dragon Knight Saga
- Dragon Age Origins
- The Witcher 2
- Drakensang The Dark Eye and its sequel River of Time
All these are colorful and have good stories. They aren't as ''cheerful'' as JRPGs though, they tend to be more realistic. Also, keep in mind DA:O and Drakensang are based off turn-based D&D rules, which means don't expect hack 'n slash action like the Witcher 2 or Divinity 2.HP Pavilion dv7 6100 : i7 2720QM 2.2 GHz | AMD 6770M (Stock) + Intel 3000HD | 8GB DDR3 RAM | 750GB HDD | 1600x900

Please bear in mind that The Witcher may seem a bit boring. My favorites were acts 2 & 3 there you had to do some detective work, which involved a lot of going back and forth, waiting for day or night and so on. But in my opinion, those were the best chapters in game.
Other than it's the best such RPG I ever played. Even by today's standards, The Witcher has great graphics (Act 4 was very colorful). A strange battle system at first later became quite enjoyable for me and my mouse. You don't have to do lotsa clicking, just click at the right moment.ASUS M60J: 16" 1366*768, Intel i7 720QM 1.6GHz, 4GB DDR3 1066MHz RAM, nVidia GeForce 240M 1GB VRAM, 2xSeagate Momentus 500GB 5400RPM and some other less important hardware
