Default Please recommend a WW2 Flyer

All, I have purchased heroes over europe but haven't installed it yet. Can folks give me some ideas for ww2 flyers? Here are my requirements...

    1. Play-ability and re-playability are key to me. I like games that are optimized for PC and the game encourages you to continue playing. You know, kind of like an RPG.. gain levels, more guns, better ammo, more speed, etc...

    2. The game has to be compatible with 360 controller or joystick (360 preferred)

    3. Decent to Good graphics. I know 5 year old games are good but something that looks a bit more recent.

    4. Something that is FUN TO PLAY and doesn't require 100 hours of real flying time to play. I only have 1 hour of flying time so I dont want to have to purchase a cockpit to figure out how to play it.

Thanks for all your time and effort. My M11X specs are below is if the games are too demanding please let me know.

    Best Wishes,

    StevenX

That's a tough one as RPG aspects are not really in flying games. However I can list some generally good PC WW2 sims:

Wings of Prey, which just came out and is very good looking. It will tax your M11X at max settings, but still look good with settings lowered. It's very fun to play. I play it with a full force feedback system. I like getting crazy into it. I only with a had a TrackIR for it too.

IL-2 Sturmovik, is Wings of Prey's predecessor. Much lighter on computational needs (came out in the early 2000s), and still fun as well as realistic. The 1946 add on is a must. Most likely you'll only find the game in it's IL-2 1946 form, but that's ok since it comes with the original + add-on + Pacific Fighters as well. It's a good value. Problem is that the visuals are very early 2000s.

There are some other lower profile WW2 sims out there but I can't think of them. A quick google search would help, but the two I listed are pretty much the best out there from what I've heard.

    FYI, I bought IL-2 pack includes Lock-On, IL-2 and the Pacific Expansion ($7.50) with IL-2 1946 ($5). I bought them at Gogamer.com

edit: Ooh I forgot if you can find Battle of Britain II it's a damn good WWII fighter especially with the latest patch. I bought that from GoGamer for $3.50
