    Thanks.
There's no harm in him asking in a new thread.

To the OP, I get all my old games from the amazon marketplace. Good selection, and good prices if you shop around. TONS of old games, I still have 47 left on my wishlist that is slowly dwindling.

If you have a joystick, I recommend X-Wing, TIE Fighter, X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter (lame name, but it's totally different from the first two) and X-Wing Alliance. The four of them are from the era of Pentium II's, so they should run on literally anything, and I still find myself going back and playing them again 15 years later. Getting them to run on a 64-bit operating system is a pain, but they'll run on XP just fine.

Awww man Tie Fighter!! Tie Fighter was a DOS game, wasn't it? Or was it Win95? I think I remember playing on Win95. What a fun game though. IMO one of the best space combat sims ever made. I wasn't baller enough to have the version that came on floppy disks though .

Speaking of old games - Oregon Trail or Where in the World is Carmen San Diego, anyone?

I've also started playing audiosurf. Great casual game and it only costs $10 on steam.

There was a re-release in 1995, which contained both games under the title of X-Wing Collector's Series. They were both Windows 95 games, but with a bit of googling they'll even run in Windows 7.

Sadly, it's not on gog so if you didn't get it when it came out new, it's pretty hard to find now.

    Old DOS games:
-Hugo's House of Horrors and its sequels
-King's Quest series (difficult and frustrating, to say the least).
-LucasArts point 'n click games (Monkey Island series, Indiana Jones series, etc.)
    -Adventures of Maddog Wiliams
    -Alone in the Dark series
    -Last Half of Darkness series
    -Blood series
    -Legend of Kyrandia series
And not old, but still great: the Chzo mythos games by Yahtzee

    Not at all.

I talked with a few moderators about making a "Recommend me a Game" thread for questions just like this, so we didn't have to keep seeing the same thread pop up every few days.

It makes the forum easier to manage, and people can go to one thread and either look for games from the list I created, or simply post a question.

The fact that it is made by me should make no difference. I only did it to relive the mods from having to make it.
