PowerMizer Switch - get the most out of your video card
This application easily switches PowerMizer off and on, I made it based on the tutorial here :
Disable PowerMizer **Tested** (thanks to kenside34)
If you don't know what PowermMizer is, you might be familiar with it's effect

Now what is PowerMizer :
As the world is faced with ever increasing demands on its resources, every opportunity to eliminate wasted power can help. NVIDIA® PowerMizer® technology is an intelligent power management solution available on all NVIDIA graphics processing units (GPUs) that can effectively extend battery life and reduce wasted power – all while providing performance on demand even while plugged in the wall.
Key Benefits
* Extends battery life
* Intelligently adapts performance based on a user's needs so it saves power even when the notebook is plugged into the wall
* Runs in the background to provide the best balance of performance and battery life
* Helps the notebook run cooler and quieter under normal operating conditions by dissipating less heat in the GPU
This might be handy, saving you more battery life ... but at the same time it downclocks your GPU .. so u might feel that gaming on battery is alot slower than on A/C .. if you want to play games on the go, this is the application for you ...
Note: this app only changes some registry values and is completely reversible and safe, if you don't want it just choose "PowerMizer on" .. and restart
I am not responsible for any damages caused by the use of this application .. use at your own risk ..
Download v1.2: http://www.box.net/shared/v7jpoateoq
Hope you enjoy it .. this app is tested on XP, Vista, Windows7 and working 100%
Knows issues:
- Does not work with UAC turned on. Solution: Rightclick & "Run as Administrator"
- Nothing seems to change. Solution: RestartLast edited by xsmile; 19th October 2009 at 07:08 PM.

Re: Powermizer Switch - get the most out of your video card
Doesn't Vista already do this through its power plans? Keep the computer on performance mode and it won't downclock the GPU on battery?
