Re: Nvidia GeForce 9500M GS 512MB in new Asus laptop...
Couldn't this just be the dieshrink? I mean, the 8800GT is G92, and the 9800GX2 seems to be dual G92's. So the 9600 is maybe "just" G94 (or whatever the midrange will be), hence the 8800M GTX (G92)won't be replaced.

Re: Nvidia GeForce 9500M GS 512MB in new Asus laptop...
so then its likely the 9500m has more shaders then the 8600M?
I hope its a much better card atleast on par with the 8700M.
Lets say 8700M to half way to 8800M? lol but thats probably wishful thinking.
Who knows maybe they added a 256bit memory interface also? ...but unlikely.
If they release a 9600M it will probably be like that.

Re: Nvidia GeForce 9500M GS 512MB in new Asus laptop...
The 9500, as the 2nd number implies, isn't a "gaming" card so. My opinion is the 9500M would be between the 8600M GS and the GT

Re: Nvidia GeForce 9500M GS 512MB in new Asus laptop...
Is the 9 series going to be better than the 8800m's, which were just released, TWO WEEKS AGO. If so, won't nVidia be shooting themselves in the foot? With Quad SLi and Quad Core CPU, gaming will never be the same.

Re: Nvidia GeForce 9500M GS 512MB in new Asus laptop...
Ya I didnt like the name of 9500gs.... but then again maybe they should have named the 8600, 8500 lol.
ehhh we'll see. Either way it would be wise to wait for a new laptop right?
By mid year there should be 3600's which will be better then 8600M gt's and possibly a 9600.
Although i cant wait to get something better
lol.
