pro evolution soccer 4
Hi,
Just interested to know what kind of performance people are getting playing this game on their notebooks. Could players of this game please post up their Frames per second count and their system specs.
I'm in the market for my first ever notebook and the ability to run this game well is a big consideration on what I end up choosing. Thanks.

I play PES 4 on my Acer Ferarri 3200 very well! How do you check fps by the way?

Hi Adriano,
You have to download a small freeware app called FRAPS here's the link: http://www.fraps.com/download.htm
It's great, you just run the app before loading up a game and it gives you a readout of the FPS in the top corner of your screen. Brilliant. You can also use it to catpture screen shots and videos.
If you get FRAPS can you post up the FPS you get and let me know your machine's specs, that would be great.
Cheers

Hi again! At medium detail level and the highest resolutMbion possible, the game runs at 60 fps all the time. This is without any overclocking and here are the specs:
Mobile AMD Athlon 64 2800+
512 Mb Ram (2*256)
ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 128 Mb
80 Gb 4200 Rpm
I really like the Acer Ferarri 3200 and I also play Half Life 2 without any problems! I do think that a faster harddrive would increase the performance though!

The AMD runs it pretty hot but not nearly as hot as the Pentium 4 processors. I can really recommend the Acer Ferarri 3200 as it's pretty small and still handles the latest games without problems! What are you going to do with your laptop, except playing PES 4? Maybe I could help you some more if you told me that! I hope you buy a good lappie!

Thanks for that Adriano,
Wow, that sounds like a pretty mean machine you're running there. 60 fps! that's great. I hadn't really considered an AMD processor up until now. I know they've got some serious gaming grunt but gaming is only a minor part of my overall computing needs. Out of interest, do these processors run hot like the P4's or are they much cooler similar to the P-M's.
Anyone out there running pro evo 4 on a p-M machine for comparison?

PES 4 has a faster and more fluid gameplay than PES 3 and I think it's better. I really recommend it as I play it almost every day!!!
DeathMoJo: What program did you use to overclock your graphics-card that high? I really would like to know your score in 3DMark2001! Please tell me!

Adriano,
Primary function of the notebook is for work, photojournalism and some graphic design type stuff. Would love to be able to fire up PES4 when I'm not working though.
I'm leaning mostly towards P-M because of weight/heat/battery life issues so I'm really hoping somebody who plays PES4 on a P-M notebook responds to this thread.

leuco, P-M proccesors do great for gaming, as long as its backed with good memory and graphics card. Not sure of the all the details on how they work, but i know they compare very well to P4, due to the P4 is made on older architechture. A 1.6ghz PM- is comparable to a 2.5ghz P4 processor. Also the P-M has great features to help with battery life, such as being able to run at a lower speed while on battery power.
