Here is my desktop for the New Year. Installed are rainmeter and object dock to the left. The wallpaper is a modifed version of 'reverie' from Interfacelift.

Rainfall reading? Do you mean the thing on the right above 'CPU 57' ?

The very left line of vertical icon is 'object dock'. The rest(time, gmail, amount of cpu/ram, hdd space remaining) are rainmeter skins (rainmeter.net).

Yeah. That is a skin for rainmeter(think of it as different widgets/gadget for the program).
Basically install rainmeter and then download the skin to your skin folder. Right click on rainmeter(either the tray icon or any rainmeter skin on the desktop and select the recently downloaded skin-this skin will show up as 'element').
