BIOS Password

Hiya,
Does anyone know how to clear the BIOS password on a C-Series LifeBook? It's a secondhand unit that works OK except that I can't enter the BIOS. Is the password held on a seperate chip on the mobo, or will it clear by removing the CMOS battery? Any help would be great.

That's probably a call to support. There are a few different things that might work but I don't know which one specifically does the trick for that model. The best would be to get the password from the prior owner.

CMOS batteries in notebooks are not the same as in desktops. These batteries can be either soldered or attached via wires/clips. Unless you have a repair manual and know for sure what your getting into, follow Brian's advise.

Yeh, I'll call support if I have no other option but that will probably involve spending money I don't have.

This laptop is a few years old but I have no way of contacting the previous owner as I got it from an electronic recycling factory. The guy just gave it to me to see if I could do anything with it.
If I can't, I can just give it back to him, but I'd still like to see if I can do it. I did a Dell before which are supposedly unlockable.

I've tried reflashing the BIOS with no luck. I'm currently dismantling it to have a look at the mobo.

I purchased a Fujitsu Lifebook S6311 in the Duty Free in Asia one month ago (June 2007). Yes... I entered a bios password and forgot it. I'm still trying to get some joy from back in Asia having tried 1) Germany 2) Canada 3) Americas 4)the UK... worst service I got was the Uk who basically told me to get lost. Germany put me through to Canada, Canada to the US (actually 'Bob' in the US was a great help but the S6311 is not in his portfolio so couldn't go too far), Bob at Fujitsu in the US gave me the phone number of the UK and when I called them I was shocked at the attitude. They told me to phone Germany again or forget it. So... for the admin of many laptop websites who promulgate not talking about cracking bios's... if it wasn't for people getting involved with such... and the OEMs not helping... where would we be. That said I'm still trying to track down an alternative to help me. Without getting into the Bios I cannot rest the SATA access and the S6311 is just a lump of stuff until I do.

I'm sorry, but we don't discuss the cracking passwords, BIOS or otherwise on this forum. 99% of people's issues are legit, 1% arent'; we don't take the risk. You'll have to look elsewhere for help.
