no there isnt a choice for AHCI in bios. just enable or disable IDE. disabling IDE doesn't work.
    what a waste.
i really hope someone in this forum can help.

If you buy the external usb do you have another laptop that you can connect it to try and format it?
In the other thread i wrote that it's a bit of an unknown quantity.
In one of the Amazon reviews someone appeared to get this working with a
P7120. May be it could be a bad drive. With the Photofast drive i bought for a P7230 it was recognised in the BIOS, only that it was not recognised via usb. I had to try and do this with another laptop.

    Hi,

Has anyone been able to achieve read speeds significantly greater than about 30MB\s. For example in Photofast G-Monster V4 ZIF SSD User Reviewl Martin_555 claims that they cannot achieve speeds greater than about 30MB\s, even though the SSD is capable of speeds much greater than this and even though the P7120 uses UDMA/100.

    Thanks
