Re: Core i5 AH550 available at fry's now
Ruthless,
Have you been able to do anything about the fan noise? I am experiencing the same issue and I find it very frustrating. Should a fan cycle that much and if so, should it be that loud? I can hear it clear across the room and it is constant. I also agree that the touchpad is very sensitive. Any suggestions on how to reduce the fan noise would be appreciated. I will say that if I had known how loud it would be, I would not have bought the AH550. I consider it a defect.

Re: Core i5 AH550 available at fry's now
I have an S6520, so I'm not sure this will work for the AH550.
Anyway, on my machine, if you go into the BIOS menu at startup, there is an option for "quiet cooling" mode. That might do the trick. The desktop: 13.3" Toshiba Portege R705, Core i3-370, 8GB RAM, 160GB Intel X25-MG2, W7Pro & Linux Mint 11
The traveler: 12.1" Hannspree SN12 Intel SU4100, 4GB RAM, 96GB Kingston V+ SSD, Linux Mint 11 & Windows Home Premium

Re: Core i5 AH550 available at fry's now
Chris,
I called Tech Support because I could not find anything in the BIOS to lower the sound of the fan. They told me on this model it is not in the BIOS. Go figure. I must say I am pretty irritated by now. I have place three calls to Fujitsu with very little luck. If I can't alter the BIOS, is there someplace else to change the fan settings?
Thanks,
GG
