Default whats the deal with the new cpu drivers

    hi,
I would like to point out something interesting about the cpu drivers. Amd just release new drivers for their 64 bit processor or did they. If you look at the inf file in the driver package you will notice that their still are marked 1.1.0.0 which are the original ones. The 1.1.0.1 drivers were also same way. They also still said 1.1.0.0 after you installed them. I installed the "NEW" drivers and look in the cpu properties and the driver version was still 1.1.0.0 and not 1.1.0.9. Is AMD even testing them or are they just re-labeling old drivers. If they had tested them they would have notice the driver version was wrong and fix it. Since the 1.1.0.1 drivers had the same mislabeling, you would think this would be priority.
Let me know what you think about this driver ploy...

    thanks
    zato

    hi,
    i just got this email from Amd about the cpu drivers;

    Hello Zatoichi,

Thank you for contacting AMD's Technical Service Center.

The reason the drivers are version 1.1.0.0 is that the updated drivers
supplied by Microsoft did not have full multi-language support. We are
working with Microsoft to fix this issue and are expecting the updated
drivers available by the end of this week. In the meantime, we have
pulled the download from our website until the new drivers from
    Microsoft have been fixed.

Again, I apologize for the inconvenience. The new drivers should be
    available for download soon.

Hope this helps. If you have any other questions, please feel free to
    contact me.

    Regards,
    Jim
    CPU Specialist
    AMD TSC

    I hope this helps...
    zato
