your opinions please
I'd like to purchase an e1505 but I'm wondering what the chances are of being able to upgrade the video card to a dx10 version when they become available.
Is there any reason to believe that I wouldn't be able to upgrade that unit?
Also, what does the Audigy software do?
Thanks,
Rut

Re: your opinions please
You can only upgrade the video card if Dell sells a DX10 card for it in the future. It's very expensive to upgrade a laptop video card (several hundred dollars). Just get the best card you can afford now and don't worry about upgrading the video card in the future.

Also, if you buy the 1505 with the Intel onboard video, you can never upgrade it.

Re: your opinions please
So is it better to just wait until they offer one? Waiting is hard

Re: your opinions please
if you want dx10, yes, but also be warned, the first round of mid to low range dx10 cards probably wont be able to cut the mustard when true AA list dx10 titles hit the shelves

Like I said, get the best you can afford and enjoy your computer now. If you buy one with an ATI video card, you may be able to upgrade to a better card whenever the DX10 cards are released. Remember... I said you may, because if Dell doesn't release a 1505 with a DX10 card in the future, you will not be able to upgrade your video card.
