E1705 Fan Failure
So my video fan(side with audio ports) has failed on me right after I just got the laptop back from Dell, replaced the 7900gs due to bad memory on it. The fan tested fine before I sent it in. Maybe this happened in shipping and the connector is loose or maybe it just burnt itself out. Is there a guide on how to open an e1705 and maybe place to find the specific fan if it needs to be replaced. I really don't want to have to send this back into Dell and wait another 2 weeks or more to get it back. Thanks

Re: E1705 Fan Failure
your manual should cover it, or download it from dell support

U can also use http://www.diefer.de/indexe.htmlto I8kfan to turn the fan on manually or check you temps.
Don't open your laptop unless instructed by dell or it could be "on" you?Last edited by hydra; 20th December 2006 at 11:19 AM.
