Sure you don't want to go for that high res wuxga? It's mightly glossy and crispy...

Are you absolutely sure you have found all the deals that Dell has out there? The as-advertised section, flyers, coupon-websites (I got mine through one of those!).

I just received yesterday my 9400 (e1705) with old C1D 2GHz, 1GB, WUXGA, not too different from yours, with one year care bear for $1478 CDN (20% different from US $ ?).

Not to say your 6400 is a bad choice though. I wouldn't want to haul around my 9400 too much. It's not that heavy, but somewhat awkwardly wide and large.

I'm not too sure on the Dell keyboard though. The skin of my finger sometime sticks underneath a neighboring key sometimes. I type with 10 fingers, and when I need to quickly reach my finger way up becuase of a function key or something, the finger that's moving up gets stuck underneath the key that that finger just pressed.
I think I'm somewhat ok with it.

But one thing is definitely for sure:

    1) Dell keyboard is not as good as the Thinkpad one, and also not as good as the Lenovo one.
    2) Dell keyboard will most likely get 'old' in about 2 years.

However, I've searched for keyboard replacements, and I'm seeing cheap replacement keyboards on ebay.

At the moment, I seem to be able to type pretty decently with it, but I expect keys to start breaking after about a year or so... No problemo, lots of repair options available, because Dell is not like some rogue brand as, say, Sager (woof).

I ordered on Thursday, had a problem with my credit card, and finished it up Friday Evening. Now, it's 'In Production' and at the boxing stage in less than a day.

    How long until it ships?
