    Default Remove Bloatware or Fresh Install?

    Which would be better for a new comp? Manually removing the crapware (possibly with a program such as pc-de-crapifier http://www.yorkspace.com/pc-de-crapifier/ ) or doing a fresh install.

    These seem to be the pros and cons for me:
    Manual removal:
    Pros:
    Relatively quick with pc-de-crapifier
    Cons:
    Possibly not the fastest (can anybody notice a difference?)
    Possibly a pain to edit the registry

    Fresh Install
    Pros:
    Guaranteed fastest
    Fairly straightforward
    Cons:
    Have to mess with partitions
    Have to fix mediadirect
    Have to wait for (free) xp cd to arrive from dell
    Inspiron E1505
    XP Media Edition / Core Duo T2400 / 1gb 533mhz ram / 15.4" WXGA TrueLife / ATI X1400 / 120gb 5400rpm / dl dvd-r / Audigy HD / 9cell li-ion / paid less than $900

    I'd go with the fresh install, if it is possible. It just gets rid of most of the crap more efficiently.
