Re: International Warranty
International warranty is included with all levels of support. So a one year basic support will include 1 year of international warranty. You do not have to purchase 3 years, unless you want 3 years of international warranty. You can also add warranty to your laptop after your purchase--and if your computer has no issues at the time of purchasing the warranty.
Are you planning on using the laptop in India or the US?

Re: International Warranty
Sarang,
If you don't mind me asking, why are you buying Dell US instead of Dell India?

The main challenge here is the ownership transfer.
As it’s a retail purchase we need a physical address in US to do an ownership transfer from retailer to the customer.
Only then we can do an international transfer from US to INDIA.
There is no way we can do a direct international transfer from retailer to the customer outside of US.
Does this answer your question?

Re: International Warranty
Hi. I followed your advise and initiated a transfer of ownership by filling up forms online and submitted it. I then received an automated email a few days later that the request cant be allowed. This is the content of the email:
Dear Customer
Thank you for contacting Dell.
We are unable to complete the registration as your system is not supported in the destination country provided in your request.
We appreciate your cooperation.
Regards,
International Tag Team
So what are those companies listed in the link you posted? The site says they are "South Asia's Developing Market Business Contacts".
Are they supposed to carry on the task of providing tech support on behalf of Dell?
I really appreciate your help. Thanks in advance.M17xR3 - 2820QM - 2GB GTX580M - 16GB RAM 1600MHz - Crucial M4 128GB | 750GB 7200rpm - KILLER Wireless N 1103 - Windows 7 Ultimate
