Dell in home service
So I have a alineware m11x r2 with a motherboard problem. Dell dispatched a tech for tomorrow to replace my motherboard since the nvidia chip is faulty(I downclocked it and it works fine like other users)
Is there anything I should know about these tech guys that come to your home?
I really hope I dont have a bad experience here and I would just replace the motherboard myself but I want my warranty(free) service lol
I dont even know where theyd get the pentium motherboard for this laptop, as I cant find anything but the core i5 or i7 ones online

Not really, just let them do their work. They get their parts from warehouse/depot.
Uhh I'm not sure if Alienware allows for end users to replace FRU parts like motherboard in house, for business line you are allowed to do that.

Re: Dell in home service
I wish they would let me though, lol..but oh well its not going to cost me anything.
I just hope they dont screw it up and delete all my programs like the phone tech did and blame it on a virus or something lol

Re: Dell in home service
How could this happen? They check the system to see the issue then shut down the system to do their work. Ones they have finished with the hardware they should turn it on ask you to log in to verify everything is working okay at this point you should be watching to as you will have to sign it off.
