E1505 no 2.0GHz option...
Arrghh! After months of waiting, I went to order an e1505 tonight and find that they’ve dropped the T2500 2.0 GHz option unless you pay for a longer warranty. The highest CPU option with a 1-year warranty is the 1.83 GHz. Why would they do that? Just a few hours ago the 2.0 GHz option was there. Looks like they’ve also dropped the option for 2 gb of ram.
Hopefully it’s just a web site error, but if not there’s no way I’m going to pay for an extended warranty just to get the CPU I want. Maybe I’ll call them tomorrow and see if they can do better over the phone.
Talk about bad timing!

Re: E1505 no 2.0GHz option...
I just noticed the same thing! I have a 1505 on order after returning my original one because the screen (WXGA, w/out True Life) absolutely stinks! I want the SXGA but I want the 2 gb ram. I don't think there's much of a difference between the T2500 & T2400, so I wouldn't let that stop you necessarily. Ram can be added after. I'm thinking of cancelling my order in lieu of the new screen.
Anyone else any opinions??

One more thing, it appears that if you take the option for the warranty up front and then add the additional options offered, you cannot use the $750 coupon! Just an FYI!!!

Yeah, that's what happend to me too but with the E1705
. Because of my budget i'm forced to get a T2400 instead of a T2500. It's all good though

Re: E1505 no 2.0GHz option...
For those that are interested, I called Dell and they were able to upgrade me to the T2500 CPU. I’m still not sure why the web site doesn’t offer that option anymore. The sales rep also took the coupon code from this site, which I wasn’t sure she’d be able to do. In addition, she was able to get me free shipping, which the web site wouldn’t do since I live in Hawaii. So all in all, it came out cheaper by calling Dell directly. If some of you can’t configure the system you want online, give them a call.
Happy again.
