Re: Dell Driver Update - Samsung PM800 256GB 2.5 SATA2 SSD
So I guess this is not for raid or we have to switch to ahci in the bios then update?AHCI or ATA mode must be enabled in the BIOS for successful download. The DSRD application automatically detects either AHCI or ATA mode and progresses accordinglyM17x-r2 space black core i7 920xm 6gb 1333 dual 4870 in crossfireX 2-256gb ssd rgb led

Re: Dell Driver Update - Samsung PM800 256GB 2.5 SATA2 SSD
And the fact that if you wanted to go back to RAID afterwards you'd get no benefit from TRIM anyway as TRIM isn't supported in RAID configs.

Re: Dell Driver Update - Samsung PM800 256GB 2.5 SATA2 SSD
I am thinking about doing away with my raid setup.Would I have to flash both drives after changing to ahci in the bios?

Re: Dell Driver Update - Samsung PM800 256GB 2.5 SATA2 SSD
Actually the newest intel driver is supposed to support TRIM in RAID,

Re: Dell Driver Update - Samsung PM800 256GB 2.5 SATA2 SSD
I tried flashing my SSD drive which already have TRIM,(VBM19C1Q) and the utility did not identify them as supported drives

Re: Dell Driver Update - Samsung PM800 256GB 2.5 SATA2 SSD
No it doesn't, it supports TRIM pass-through which means in a system containing a RAID array you can also have an SSD attached (non-RAID) that supports TRIM. Previously if you had an active RAID array, Intel's storage manager could not pass TRIM commands through to attached SSDs.
