when i went to reformat my new laptop one partition was oem reserved?
Hi, I just got a new laptop, and of course i want to format, so I decided before I spend time setting it up how i like, i'll just format and put win 7 on it right away.
When I got to deleting the partitions to clear it all up I found that there were 3, one was primary (OS) one was secondary (RECOVERY), and a third was only 39MB in size, and was labeled OEM (reserved).
Naturally I decided that because it was a measly 39MB to leave it be, but still i'd like to know what this is or how I can find out.New HP DV6TQE 6100:
i7-2630, 6GB RAM, 1 GB 6770, 750GB 7200 RPM, 1920x1080, reformat win 7.
Desktop build in 2007 before college, thanks to LaptopReviews back when they had a desktop hardware as part of this forum, without which I couldn't have done it:
Q6600, 8800GTX, 2x 500GB HDD, 4GB RAM.

39MB might be the diagnostics partition (you can enter it by pressing F12 at BIOS, and choosing diagnostics)
Laptop:
Dell XPS M1330 Tuxedo Black
Desktop:
AMD Phenom II X2 550BE, MSI 785G-E65 mATX, OCZ 2x2GB + G.Skill 2x4GB = 12GB DDR3, Corsair 400W PSU
Phone:
AT&T Fuze(HTC Touch Pro/Raphael), EnergyROM WinMo 6.5, no data plan
