Just make sure you guys uninstall the Intel AHCI driver and use the generic MS driver included with Windows.

The Intel driver won't pass TRIM commands even though the drive supports it.

Sorry to jump in here guys, I just picked up one of these systems through the Microsoft deal and I really like the system, it's stylish, small, and the screen is beautiful... I have switched all of my desktop HD's to SSD's and love it, however, I'm a little "confused" by this system... from what I gather and from what Crystal Disk tells me this Adamo (128GB Samsung SSD) has a dell specific firmware and the firmware (not the drive itself) does not support GC nor TRIM. This worries me a bit, I pulled the drive out of the system in an attempt to flash it with the Samsung firmware but after getting it out and attempting to put it into my desktop the connector on the board itself has a normal sata drive connection, but the power has a "pin" preventing me from plugging in the proper power... so my question is - is everyone just "waiting" on Dell to release a proper firmware to address this issue for Adamo owners? I've went through page after page of this thread and the Alienware thread... is this what we are stuck with? I am assuming the only way to get a replacement drive for the Adamo is to have a tech out to the house since nothing inside of this system is technically serviceable by the owner...

You can't just hook up a micro sata drive to your desktop. Power is completely different and so is the connector.

Using the M$ driver is for the newer PB22-JS3's that come with the Adamo as they are TRIM enabled.

If the drive itself won't support the TRIM command, then the driver doesn't really matter.

Sorry, but it is going to be very difficult to update the fw since it is dell branded.

If I were you guys, I'd just buy an X18-m G2 and be done with it Just take the casing off and pop it in just like the samsung.
Sell the Sammy on fleabay or here in the marketplace.

My Adamo Desire from Dell EPP was originally scheduled to be delivered on the 26th (tomorrow) and I got a call from Dell telling me that it is delayed for an undetermined amount of time...

Let me know if yours ships on time.

Oh, quick question, in theory, can you take any 2.5" SSD and remove the casing and install?

Yeah, sata connector isn't different, that part snapped on just fine, but the power, like I said, is a different story...

That is the correct thread, but this isn't the same drive as all the computers discussed, the power connector will not fit into a standard desktop power supplies power harness...

It's basically the same drive, just 1.8" and microsata.

I believe if you search hard enough you can find a microsata-->sata cable to hook it to your desktop.
