3 Hours on the phone? Maybe Sleey0 should have called for you!

I got the same line from them when I got a replacement for the mangled Adamo they sent me. Keep on them about it. Not much to upgrade to, since there are a bevy of 1.4Ghz/128GB Adamo's, and you have a 256GB!

    Good luck!

Yeah I got disconnected and they finally sent me to the Adamo service people after the Adamo service told me to contact sales lol

Yeah not much to upgrade to unless they send me one of the old desire models but considering I have the 256gb in Pearl which seems like a small population, they have to match or exceed that so it leaves options limited haha

    Default Re: Adamo power brick

Hey guys, I just ordered an Adamo Desire 1.4/4G/256 SSD from the Dell Outlet. I've been watching the Adamo for the past month and was torn between buying a new 2.1 Desire or getting a 1.4 refurbed. Once the outlet started offering the 256SSD on the desires, I had my mind made up for me. I'm buying it mainly for looks, the metal construction and portability; not really a 'power pc' or gaming person, so the specs suit me fine.

I'm an expat in Beijing, and a friend is going to be bringing the lappy back with her from the States next week. When I went through the order confirmation email, I noticed:

    1 W615M Module,Adapter,45W,US ONLY Silver/white,ADAMO

US only? Do they actually still make power bricks with non-international standards? I don't mind if the physical plug is US only, but I'm concerned whether the adapter is built for 220V power sources. I'd appreciate it if you guys could check the power labels on your bricks and let me know if they are 110-220V or indeed only 110V. Thanks.

This is the closest thing you're going to get to a service manual:

I would highly recommend archiving the pages and disassembly guides in case you want to use them in the future.

I just checked my Adamo's power adapter, and its definitely international (100V-240V AC). No manufacturer would be crazy enough to drop international charging comparability from their laptops.

Could someone run "error scan" on HD Tune version 2.55 and tell me if their drive gets an error? or has damaged blocks? Im testing it on a new Desire with a samsung 256GB ssd and im getting errors each time i run it. Just wondering if i need to return my unit.

Interestingly, there is a service manual at the Dell.com support site, but upon reading it, it's more like a User Guide. Likewise, if you look at the service manual for the new Adamo XPS, it's the REAL service manual (disassembly and part info).

Wonder why there isn't a real service manual for the Adamo 13?

    @DJ GLO

Care to comment about the battery life you get on your new adamo?
Is the cooling system more efficient?, e.g. are the fans constantly on?, loud?

    Thanks

Could you guys play this YouTube video in HD and tell me how smooth it plays? Also what's the average CPU usage?

    Hi,

Has someone resolved ambient light sensors problem under W7 ?
Under Vista I had both (screen and keyboard) working. OFC it was difficult to set them on (tool for that is hidden in the quickset directory and not shown in the windows orb menu (saying "start" menu)).
Now in the W7 even after keyboard driver installed, I can't see any ALS and especially nowhere switch for them working (and dissapeared from screen graphics as well). Screen is not acting for external light conditions, previously it worked.
Quickset is not showing options for ALS anymore, and in the Quickset directory I have only BacklitKB.exe tool which is for nothing (under vista it has ALS switch, now it dissapeared).
Dell, wakeup, we're waiting for full drivers...

    How's with yours ?
