Which monitor to buy from Dell?
I have a $200 gift card for Dell and am planning on putting it towards a monitor to be used with my M1330. It'd be used mostly for web browsing, school work, watching videos, gaming if I can attach consoles to it, etc. I'd be willing to toss in an extra $100-$200 if the difference in quality is worth the additional cash.
I don't know much about this area of technology so I'm open to all suggestions. I was originally looking at 22 inchers, but there is also the Dell E248WFP for $379, which seems fairly inexpensive for 24 inches. Does anyone have any experience with this monitor? Is it worth it to get the bigger size/HD? Would anyone recommend one of the 22 inch monitors over this one?
Please keep in mind that it must be available on www.dell.com as I am using a Dell gift card.
Thanks!

Re: Which monitor to buy from Dell?
The Dell displays are nice, the E248WFP is a good display. Personally though, I find 24-inch displays just a little too big. For me, 22-inch displays are the perfect size.
You should also look into the SP series of Dell displays, they're glossy but also come with webcams and in my opinion have a nicer design. Check them out!Apple MacBook Pro 13 | OS X Snow Leopard | 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo | 4 GB RAM | 250 GB HDD | SuperDrive

Re: Which monitor to buy from Dell?
Over on slickdeals I saw a post for a 2408WFP (Higher end Dell 24") for around the $400 mark. If you can swing the extra, DO IT!

The 24" is a much higher quality lcd panel. It is way worth the money.

Re: Which monitor to buy from Dell?
24 inchs is rather large but you do get the boost in resolution to 1920 by 1200.
The 24 inch would be great for school as you would be able to put your word document on one half and your source (web page/pdf etc) on the other.
Heard good things about the E248WFP on these forums

Re: Which monitor to buy from Dell?
Remember that the cheaper 24" and all 22" screens have 6-bit panels, though that's probably not that important, particularly for the kinds of usage described.

Re: Which monitor to buy from Dell?
Its adequate for PS3 gaming as well. My friend has a Dell 22 incher, not the one I mentioned, but a little older, and it plays games beautifully.

Re: Which monitor to buy from Dell?
I personally want to upgrade to a 24 inch from my 19 I have now. I want lots and lots of screen real estate.
