    Default XPS M1330 as a Digital Audio Workstation

    Okay I have an XPS M1330
    4GB RAM
    320GB Hard drive
    128MB Grapic Card Nvidia
    Slim and light led screen

    Will this work as a Digital Audio Workstation.. running protools and propellarhead's reasons software. Please let me know if I will run into any pitfalls
    On the search again for a laptop/ultrabook.

    Any problems you'll have will likely be related to Vista and a smallish screen. T9300 should be a really good chip to do your processing.

    What card are you hoping to use?

    You may run into some hassle as there are few PC Expresscard solutions available and if you are wanting to use the onboard Ricoh firewire your mileage may vary. Have a scan of this rather lehgthy thread.

    Soundcard or Firewire card?

    Not a lot of choice in the PC Expresscard realm for pro soundcards.
    Best source for Firewire card info is that thread. Best posing the question there.

    Thanks for the info. Its a shame but I may end up selling the m1330 and getting a MacBook or MacBook Pro
    On the search again for a laptop/ultrabook.
