New XPS 1330 owners
Well with the huge discounts and my EPP discount, I am seriously thinking of grabbing one. This notebook will be used to complement my Quad Core, 8800GT desktop. My main questions are as follows
1. Under heavy load is the notebook quiet, or does the fan have an annoying high pitch sound.
2. Those who have the LED screen, is it worth it and what are your opinions
3. Can the thermal paste be by just un-screwing a panel on the bottom of the notebook(Pictures around the web shows you can, but I want to confirm this.)
4.Battery Life with both the 6 and 9 cell. What do you average with light work, WiFi on, BT etc...
This notebook will be for surfing the net on the couch, playing WoW when I am at friends house, the G/F's house, school, watching Anime on my HDTV, light work. I don't need it to be a high powered machine and would rather have a smaller, and lighter notebook over better gpu performance.

Re: New XPS 1330 owners
I did not get led because when I went to buy the computer it was a $300 upgrade. At $150 I would consider it, although there is truly nothing wrong with the LCD, the picture is great and it is pretty bright. I got the six cell battery and I can get around 2.5-3 hours with wifi/bluetooth on and about 5/8 screen brightness. The nine cell will last longer for sure, but I didn't want the added weight/size for traveling with the laptop; instead I bought an extra ac charger to carry around so I can leave one permanently at my desk. The computer is very fast and quiet, I love the thing. For the tasks listed it should do all of that just fine.

Re: New XPS 1330 owners
the fan is somewhat audible under heavy load but not annoying - but hey its only one fan cooling the whole system1. Under heavy load is the notebook quiet, or does the fan have an annoying high pitch sound.
every penny of it - you have a brighter, lighter and thinner laptop2. Those who have the LED screen, is it worth it and what are your opinions
no experience on that - what is your intention of this?3. Can the thermal paste be by just un-screwing a panel on the bottom of the notebook(Pictures around the web shows you can, but I want to confirm this.)
3-3.25 hours on 6/8 brightness and wireless/browsing/office apps/and bluetooth discoverable turned on.4.Battery Life with both the 6 and 9 cell. What do you average with light work, WiFi on, BT etc...
