Vostro - how to check screen mfr and 8600m GT ddr version?
I just received my Vostro 1500 and I'd like to know how do I check the screen manufacturer (I checked device manager but it just gives generic labels) and ddr version of the 8600m GT graphics card? Is there a way to do check these without installing extra goodies?
On a side note, the screen doesn't appear to be grainy (an Inspiron's screen I saw in a store was quite grainy) and the headphone jack snap/crackle/pop is unfortunately present.

download the freeware PC Wizard 2008..should tell you screen mfg and GDDR type. In addition you can also dl GPU-Z.

I found the screen manufacturer... it's an SEC.
I used GPUz. It's ddr2.
